Design Services

It starts with the initial consultation. You can call the office or email us to set up an appointment. We will meet with you to determine the scope of the project and discuss your goals. We can also help determine your budget and offer guidance as to the appropriate amount to allocate to your landscape project based on the market value of your home. When you give us the go-ahead to proceed with a drawing, we will ask you to sign the drawing agreement and pay the drawing fee.

Upon completion of the drawing, we will meet with you to review and describe all the elements of the project, as well as providing a detailed estimate. Some features may also be shown in elevation, to further convey the design intent.

We recognize that it can be hard to look at a flat drawing from a bird's eye perspective and get a good sense of what your landscape will really be like. Should you choose, we can produce 3-D renderings for you as part of the drawing package. A typical landscape plan is shown on the left, a portion of the plan is shown in 3-D in the middle image, and the completed project is shown in the bottom image.

Construction

The construction process starts with a contract. In it we confirm our responsibilities, the project cost, and the start and completion dates. The drawing also becomes part of the contract. We require a 20% deposit at signing and the contract details the remainder of the payment schedule.

Before construction begins, we obtain all necessary permits from the Municipality, and Conservation Authority, if required. Deposits and fees required for approvals will be outlined in the contract and are in addition to the cost of work. During the construction phase, we will co-ordinate any sub-trades required to complete the project.

Maintenance

You enjoy your garden, but you don't enjoy gardening. We have trained horticultural staff that will maintain your landscape for you on a weekly basis. Lawn care, weeding, mulching of beds in the spring, clean up of leaves in the fall - we will take care of all of it for you.
